About The Position

This position is responsible for safely producing and finishing solid and veneered wood prototypes using advanced machinery, hand tools, and sanding equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assemble one-off and low-volume wood prototypes based upon design specifications and verbal instructions. Safely operate common hand tools, including, but not limited to, tape measure, drill, impact driver, random orbit sander, and pneumatic nail and staple guns. Responsible for the safety and well-being of self as well as all associates within the facility by following basic safety procedures and using PPE correctly. Will learn how to safely use and dispose of chemicals, stains, paints, oils, rags, foam and paint brushes. Recognizes simple diagrams and labeled shop drawings. Learn and understand how to read and understand critical notes, special packaging instructions and other related information. High attention to detail, accuracy and quality of work. Can identify basic defects or inconsistencies. Communicates effectively with peers, team leads and supervisors. Operate small woodworking machinery ensuring safe work practices as well as keeping the work area clean and a safe work environment for all that work or enter the area. Package the final prototypes safely for transportation via small package carriers (FedEx, UPS, etc.) Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Dependable, punctual, good attendance.
  • Ability to interact well with others in the common pursuit of working safely while producing material that meets all quality attributes and standards.
  • Must be able to read Safety Data Sheets (SDS) sheets

Nice To Haves

  • Some knowledge of wood products and finishing preferred.
  • 1-3 years of past manufacturing experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prefer: OSHA 10 hour training
