About The Position

The Protestant Worship Leader will be responsible for leading the weekly Protestant worship service at the Altus Air Force Base Chapel. This role includes providing music for special services such as funerals, memorials, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve. The Worship Leader will also recruit, train, and rehearse a Worship Team of volunteer musicians and singers, ensuring a balanced repertoire that includes hymns, praise songs, and contemporary music. Additionally, the Worship Leader will operate audio/visual systems and Proclaim presentation software, and will work closely with the Chaplain to plan music and submit lyrics 72 hours prior to services.

Requirements

• At least 3 years’ recent experience as a Protestant Worship Leader or Musician
• Ability to read music and play a lead instrument (guitar, piano, or keyboard)
• Skilled in vocal leadership and harmony
• Familiar with multi-cultural, multi-denominational Protestant worship styles
• Active church/chapel membership with letter of endorsement
• Proficient in PowerPoint and Proclaim software; able to operate sound/AV equipment

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly Protestant worship service (Sundays 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM)
• Provide music for special services (funerals, memorials, Good Friday, Christmas Eve)

• Plan music with the Chaplain; submit lyrics 72 hours prior to services
• Maintain a balanced repertoire (hymns, praise songs, contemporary)
