About The Position

Join Novant Health as a Protective Services Officer with the highly respected Protective Services team, where your work supports a safe environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare team members in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting. As a Protective Services Officer, you will: Respond to emergency calls for assistance and ensure rapid, professional incident resolution. Monitor behavioral health units and provide direct support to clinical staff in high-acuity environments. Participate in firearms training and other healthcare-specific security programs to maintain a safe, therapeutic setting.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• IAHSS Basic and/or Adv Training Certifications within 6 months of hire, required.
• NCPPSB Armed Security Office Registration Permit within 12 months of hire, required.
• NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire, required.
• BLS/CPR within 90 days of hire through employment.
• Public contact experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to accurately receive and transmit information by radio and telephone.
• Ability to translate observations and information into legible, complete, and accurate reports.
• No criminal record.
• Maintains valid driver's license in the state of residence.

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare Public Safety/Police experience, preferred.
• Security, law enforcement or military experience.
