About The Position
A Protective Gear Specialist job is available with The City of Fort Worth Fire Department. We are seeking a Protective Gear Specialist for sewing, inspecting, repairing, and tracking Personal Protective Gear (PPE) for over 900 firefighter personnel. This is a hands-on position responsible for embroidery, uniform alterations, and gear maintenance to support firefighter safety. Duties include applying patches, custom embroidery, hemming, altering uniforms, repairing PPE, and processing uniform requests. The candidate must be able to operate sewing equipment proficiently, maintain accurate records, and work closely with the team to meet deadlines. Strong multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment are essential. Travel for training and certification may be required.
