The Lifelong Health Protection Officer works under the direction of the Supervisor. The officer performs functions to protect facility and personnel from property loss and criminal activity. Provides services and assistance, as outlined by policies and procedures and directed by Management, to make the facility safe for employees, patients, residents, and visitors and to meet the expectations of Riverside Health. What you will do Monitor fire, intrusion, duress, life alerts, Wanderguard, and security alarm systems and respond as appropriate. Maintain a working knowledge of Genetec access and video system and Worxhub. Function in emergency circumstances as directed. Operate communications equipment in keeping with assigned duties. Maintain positive public relations with the community. Escort employees, visitors, and residents as requested. Assist with transportation and lifting of residents as requested. Assist residents in and out of vehicles as necessary. Assist with visitor management credentialing. Direct and assist residents, visitors, employees, contractors, and other members of the public to the appropriate parking areas. Direct persons to the appropriate entrance of the facility. Assist with employee, contractors, and visitor badging, ensure all persons are in compliance with established policies. Patrol the interior and exterior of the campus to prevent and detect criminal activity. Write traffic warnings and incident reports. Ensure appropriate equipment is in assigned vehicle, and maintain performance of protection vehicles to include cleaning, fluid levels and engine maintenance. Perform facility department functions in the absence of Facilities. Maintain logs, input work orders into Worxhub, SOPs, complete training modules, fire extinguishers, radios, Genetec, Worxhub, and equipment. Keep files, SOPs and blotter current. Make written reports of incidents or unusual circumstances with which confronted with while on duty, including safety and fire hazards. Provide appropriate and detailed information in reports about incidents or concerns for quality monitoring thru rCare and pass downs. Safety Practices - Bring to the attention of the Supervisor, any accidents, injuries, safety matters, or protection problems. Complete computer based learning modules and other employee training modules necessary for position to remain up to date on safety issues, procedures and processes. Identify opportunities for service improvement and participate in process improvement and departmental in-services. Responsible for ensuring safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals and in accordance with RHS policies and procedures. Demonstrates the ability to keep work area neat, clean and in compliance with RHS, NFPA, ISO, DNV and State safety standards.
