About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise, ID is hiring a Protection Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. This position will be scheduled as-needed for both 12-hour day and night shifts. Hours vary based on business needs and shifts may include weekends, weekdays and holidays. This is a non-benefited position.

Requirements

• Previous security or military experience preferred but not required.
• Must have active driving privileges.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secured environment in disasters, fires and/or bomb threats.
• Interact daily with public regarding safety, visitor control, thefts, and any security problems that might arise.
• Confront strangers and either directs them to the proper area or escorts them off the medical center campus.
• Conduct package inspection and checks property leaving the facility for proper authorization.
• Reports vulnerable situations, hazards, and/or equipment malfunctions to the proper department or persons for corrective action.
• Checks employee and service personnel for proper I.D.
• May be required to physically restrain a person with the amount of force necessary for the protection of all persons involved in a combative situation.
• Operates motor vehicle, two-way radio, camera, and electronic surveillance equipment and demonstrates basic computer skills.
