About The Position

You will engage directly with both internal teams and external partners to design and implement protection and control solutions that range from standard product offerings to custom applications. Moreover, as an early user of our internally-developed control platforms, your feedback will be vital in refining platform functionality and influencing feature development. You will help create innovative high-tech products, to offer support to electric utilities grappling with real-world protection and control issues, and to deepen and disseminate your expertise in the technologies that are pivotal to the power grid's digital transformation. Your work will encompass both conventional and graphical programming techniques to solve power system protection and control challenges. You will also support product development and testing, ensuring system functionality is up to par. Furthermore, you will be sharing your valuable knowledge and experience by delivering training and collaborating closely on projects with varying degrees of complexity and scope. By leveraging state-of-the-art tools and testing equipment, you will simulate, test, and confirm the efficacy of protection and control functions. Your contributions will also extend to the development of solutions that meet industry standards, and you will have the chance to give back to the industry by participating in the creation of these standards. Our customers may need support when customizing our products to meet their specific applications. You will have the opportunity to interface with customers to help them navigate their protection and control applications, offering guidance on how to safely program and operate these critical devices and troubleshoot issues that may arise. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in power systems, protection & control, or logical programming.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Power Systems Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience working with medium voltage power distribution system IEDs, such as protective relays, recloser controls, or other related protection and control devices
  • Knowledge of modern utility automation and protection schemes and / or studies
  • Experience in power systems protection, coordination, design analysis or relaying
  • Experience in PLC programming, digital logic, combinatorial logic, or use of IEC 61131 programming languages

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate coursework or degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering (e.g., Electrical Engineering with a focus on Energy Systems, etc.) is a plus
  • PE License in Electrical Power is a plus
