About The Position

The Prosthetic Fitter fits Mastectomy Prosthetics and apparel on an appointment basis. Places orders for prosthetics, bras, and other accessories for inventory and special orders. Receives, prices, and documents said orders in the computer. Makes calls to doctor offices to get prescriptions for patients. Fills out and files paperwork needed for billing. Works closely with DME billing experts to assure compliance with CMS billing requirements to allow for successful billing and reimbursement of all products. Participates in quarterly quality DME improvement meetings to audit denial rates and assess customer service ratings. Works with DME Manager and Supervisor to maintain ACHC accreditation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Certificate of completion of Mastectomy Prosthetic Fitter training recognized with the BOC & ABC for no less than 7 credit hours.
• Two years of customer service experience.

Nice To Haves

• 6 months of Mastectomy Prosthetics fitting in a retail or hospital setting.
• Healthcare and/or non-profit sector experience.
• Experience working with the public in a formal & informal setting.

Responsibilities

• Fits patients for mastectomy prosthetics.
• Documents patient records and billing, DME meetings, audits, compliance.
• Orders and receives product.
• Performs patient call backs and housekeeping as necessary in Care Boutique.
