About The Position

Aerovel (the Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program) is looking for a Propulsion Technician to join our Manufacturing Production Team based in Bingen, WA. Meet the Team: The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program offers one of the most sophisticated small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). It can be used day or night by US and allied forces for a diverse range of intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) on land and at sea. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience designing test setups related to mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical systems, such as engine test stands, etc.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems.
  • Fundamental understanding of two stroke engines and fuel systems.
  • Experience with tools and equipment related to engines.
  • Ability to work in the US without current, or future, need for visa sponsorship/work authorization is required for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test production engines, fuel tanks, and ignition systems.
  • Assemble, test and calibrate production rotor systems and related components.
  • Perform propulsion systems development, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Troubleshoot failure modes and provide photo documentation.
  • Operate manual machine tools, rill, lathe, mill, dyno etc.
  • Align, fit or assemble propulsion system component parts, using hand or power tools.
  • Maintain part inventory and order replacement inventory as needed.
  • Review of documentations including drawing, schematics, and Bill of materials.
  • Assisting with manufacturing/ production / quality process improvement.
  • Develop work instructions, test procedures and quality documentation.
