This position is for the Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) program, one of Lockheed Martin's best-in-class Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity and reliability. This position is for a Mechanical Engineering Manager in the Post Boost Control System (PBCS) IPT that both collaborates well in a team environment and has excellent communication skills. In this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the PBCS IPT with our Navy partner, LM leadership, and suppliers, with many opportunities for career development along the way. The PBCS IPT is responsible for the development, manufacture, and management of the PBCS which is an attitude control and propulsive subsystem. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead our PBCS Component Development Team. Specifically, you will be responsible for leading the team as we prepare for PDR in 2026. You will manage 6 component IPTs, you will be responsible for the budget and schedule and reporting status of each directly to senior leadership and our Navy partners. The development of the PBCS components will be a mixture of internal design and working with supplier partners, in this role it will be critical to build partnerships with our suppliers to ensure we meet all programmatic milestones and have a successful PDR. The successful candidate will be a full spectrum leader, build lasting partnerships with our Navy counterparts, focus on financial and strategic objectives, and work closely with a range of other leaders on FBM. The candidate will be expected to aid in the hiring process as the team grows. It will be critical to build a team culture focused on meeting program commitments while maintaining technical discipline.

Requirements

  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in Engineering Development (SRR/PDR/CDR)
  • Experience in component development and/or development of propulsion HW or systems
  • Demonstrated team leadership or prior management experience
  • You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to maintain a US DoD Top SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
