About The Position

Lead the end-to-end design, analysis, and development of propulsion systems for advanced satellites, ensuring mission requirements are met. Oversee the integration, testing, and qualification of propulsion systems, including hardware-in-the-loop and system-level testing. Develop and implement novel propulsion technologies and architectures to enhance system performance and reliability. Conduct performance analysis and simulations of the propulsion system. Drive system-level trade studies to select optimal propulsion technologies based on mission objectives and constraints. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including structures, avionics, and thermal, to ensure seamless integration of propulsion subsystems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7-10+ years of hands-on experience in the design, development, and testing of spacecraft propulsion systems.
  • Expertise in propulsion system modeling and analysis tools, and the ability to create your own analysis tools.
  • Ability to lead complex engineering projects with multiple stakeholders, meeting deadlines and deliverables.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with chemical propulsion systems, preferably hypergolic and/or green propellant in-space systems.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks for propulsion system design.
  • Hands-on experience with propulsion test setups, including vacuum chamber testing and instrumentation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment or a similarly dynamic setting.
  • Ability to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance
