Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Propulsion Engineer - level 1 or 2 with experience to join our team at our Palm Beach Gardens, Florida location to support the Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) business unit. This position can also be worked at our Elkton, Maryland or Ronkonkoma, New York locations. The Northrop Grumman PS&C business unit is based in Elkton, Maryland and began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The Palm Beach Gardens location is the Air-breathing propulsion center of excellence specializing in the design, analysis and system integration of ramjets, scramjets and other advanced air-breathing propulsion systems. Description Perform design of structural components and functional systems of company products. Generally work from under supervision from higher graded engineers. Analyze requirements for materials, structural component, or functional systems. Release results as design data after review by higher graded engineer. Evaluate completed design with supervisor and other technical groups and make modification necessary to achieve the most ideal design.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelors or Masters in STEM, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering strongly preferred
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Requires Bachelors in STEM plus 2 years of related experience. Will consider those with a Masters degree in STEM and 0 or more years of related experience. Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering strongly preferred.
  • US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software
  • Knowledge of ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
