This position will be a full-time position supporting the NASA White Sands Test Facility Propulsion Department. This position requires working with test stand support teams across the Propulsion Department, including mechanical and electrical managers, engineers, project leads, and technician crews. The Propulsion Department Mechanical Systems Branch Manager will directly manage the mechanical engineers and technicians on their team. They are a member of the Propulsion management team and will report to the Department Manager. EOE/Minority/Female/Disabled/Veteran Responsibilities The NASA WSTF Propulsion Department Mechanical Systems Branch Manager is a key leadership position responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the test stand support teams consisting of mechanical engineers and technicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, propulsion testing, pressure systems, project management, team leadership, and personnel development. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the branch's operations, including project management, technical performance, and team and personnel management, including compliance to WSTF training and work practices. The Propulsion Mechanical Systems Branch Manager will also be responsible for various Department level leadership tasks as assigned/developed with the Department Manager. The Propulsion Mechanical Systems Branch Manager will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan for personnel growth within the branch. They will work closely with the NASA clients to identify and develop project resources as needed to support NASA’s contracts/projects. The Branch Manager will be expected to lead and mentor a team of engineers and support staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards .
