Working Conditions: To assist with pre-screening before sending for interviews, please keep in mind the following points that we have found to be most predictive of success at Univance: Work experience: While manufacturing experience is helpful, it is not critical. Individuals do best who have had to work in positions which require a lot of standing, such as retail, fast food etc. Those who have worked in sedentary positions such as truck driver, struggle to adapt and complain of foot/leg pain the most. Also, those who have been in non-structured and/or outdoor jobs such as construction have not been successful here; they struggle with remaining in work cell and working at a required pace and dont like the loss of freedom to perform tasks in their perceived best way. Longevity: While we were desperate for people last year and taking who we could get, we are now able to hold a better standard on prior work history. This means if the last three jobs they can recall only lasted a couple of weeks or 3 months at the most, we are likely not going to select them. Especially if they disclose that the last two jobs they lost were for attendance, we will not select them. We need people with ability to commit to strong attendance and our goal is for them to stay long enough to go full-time and be with us for some time. If someone has not been able to hold a job for any length of time or is only looking for short-term, please do not send to interview. | | | | Malone is an equal opportunity employer
