About the position

The Proposal Writer/Content Analyst is responsible for creating compelling proposals and reports that communicate the organization's value proposition to potential clients. This role involves analyzing request for proposals (RFPs), developing and refining content, and ensuring the final submission is persuasive and aligns with client requirements and company standards. The successful candidate will bring a blend of creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Compile necessary information from various sources within the organization to address the RFP/RFI requirements effectively.
  • Write specific sections of the proposal, focusing on clarity, persuasiveness, and technical accuracy.
  • Carefully read through the solicitation documents to identify and highlight key requirements and evaluation criteria.
  • Compare organizational capabilities with solicitation needs to tailor the proposal strategically.
  • Identify any gaps in information or capabilities and work with relevant departments to address these gaps in the proposal.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and the sales team to gather necessary information and approvals.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with the proposal team and stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Monitor progress against deadlines, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure all proposals are of high quality, compliant with RFP requirements, and submitted on time.
  • Develop a compliance checklist based on solicitation requirements to guide the proposal development process.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from proposal submissions to continuously improve the quality assurance process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or equivalent experience in related field
  • 3 years of experience beyond degree

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with commercial or federal proposal writing/RFP's
  • Previous experience within the healthcare insurance industry
  • Shipley training with hands-on experience applying knowledge
  • Certification and/or membership with Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP)
