GHD is hiring a Proposal Manager II to lead proposal activities within an Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) and professional services environment, managing the development and implementation of pursuit plans and strategy while ensuring consistent application of firm brand standards and proposal development processes (Winning Work). Requirements

  • Proven skill to manage and work effortlessly with Technical Leaders in any market and service line within an AEC organization.
  • Proven leadership and strategy development skills.
  • Proven skill to strategize and develop strong marketing, pursuit, and proposal win themes and differentiators.
  • Extensive expertise and skills in the proposal process.
  • Enlists the support of team to carry-out tasks of a proposal.
  • Participate in industry organizations that help build GHD brand, e.g., Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), Society of Marketing Professionals (SMPS), and American Marketing Association (AMA).
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and assignments.
  • Proven ability to negotiate, problem solve, plan, and display time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Excellent organizational skills required with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Even tempered in fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Consistent personal ethics: integrity, dependability, initiative, and quality.
  • Expert in Microsoft Suite.
  • Expert in Adobe PDF.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign) and Photoshop.
  • Proficient in Salesforce/PowerBI.
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree.
  • Five to Seven years of experience leading the proposal process from prepositioning phases through interview and driving teams to develop complaint and competitive bids for an AEC organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the Shipley proposal management process (or similar structured proposal methodologies) preferred.
  • Experience supporting pursuits in the Miami and/or South Florida market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage proposal efforts cross functionally across the US East for AEC and professional services clients, including selective support of pursuits in the Miami and South Florida market.
  • Lead proposal strategy discussions, GNGs, and kick-off meetings for priority pursuits and ensuring strategic win themes are effectively incorporated throughout the proposal and aligned with established brand, messaging, and pursuit processes.
  • Drives development and manages proposal team (technical leader, marketing coordinator, technical writes, and graphics, etc.).
  • Manage proposal teams through the development and production process from start to finish, ensuring adherence to Winning Work methodology and internal governance requirements.
  • Collaborates with team in the development of various proposal sections including Management, Personnel, Executive Summaries, and/or other Volumes as assigned.
  • Facilitates color team reviews (Pink Team, Red Team, Gold Team)
  • Facilitate production and delivery of finished product, while complying with all RFP requirements as well as internal brand, compliance, and quality control standards.
  • Lead interview strategy discussions, balancing client expectations with firm presentation standards.
  • Manage the interview development and production process from start to finish.
  • Attends client pre-proposal and debrief meetings; shares lessons learned and best practices across teams, including insights related to AEC procurement trends and regional markets.
