The Proposal Lead Engineer supports the Business Development Team with the development of compliant proposals including implementation of capture strategies, and supports customer engagement related to product development. Reports to the VP, Strategy & Business Development. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both written and spoken forms
  • Ability to develop, plan and execute programs
  • 10-20% Travel Required

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Education: B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Preferred Experience: 2+ years experience engineering at Systima or 5+ years engineering experience in space or defense industry.
  • Experience managing teams and/or projects
  • Experience with customer presentations
  • Exposure to concept development, technology application, and program planning

Responsibilities

  • Leads engineering teams with development of technical approach development, risk assessment, compliance matrices, hardware utilization matrices, and project plans (WBS) and costs
  • Coordinates proposal reviews and closing of action items
  • Handles complex proposals and ensures proposal compliance
  • Aligns and uses Karman's portfolio to meet customer requirements
  • Engages in customer technical discussions and extend technical support to business development team
  • Writes, compiles and manages all proposal documents, requirements, and checklists
  • Develops business development documents including proposal templates, RFI responses, and customer presentations
  • Implements Business Development team strategies to capture opportunities
  • Responsible for proposal log tracking and on-time proposal submittal
