About The Position

Acentra Health is looking for a Proposal Development, Specialist to join our growing team. We are looking for a creative writer with a strong background in journalistic storytelling to join our team. This individual will be responsible for leading the narrative strategy, shaping compelling content, and ensuring high-quality, persuasive proposals tailored to U.S. Government agencies—primarily State and Federal healthcare organizations. The ideal candidate combines the curiosity and clarity of a journalist with the precision and compliance awareness of a proposal professional. They will partner closely with capture managers, subject matter experts, and solution architects to translate complex technical, service, and systems solutions into engaging, client-focused stories that win contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of professional writing experience.
  • Portfolio of writing samples to demonstrate expertise.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in journalistic writing and storytelling with a demonstrable ability to create compelling, people-centered narratives.
  • Experience with Health IT in Federal and State government.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve content.
  • Any training or certifications in proposal writing.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on journalistic writing and storytelling.
  • Collaborate with Proposal Operations team, Sales team, and Operations team to fully understand client needs, hot buttons, and goals.
  • Coordinate with our technology and management specialists to fully understand our proposed solutions and articulate the values and benefits of our solutions in client-focused language.
  • Manage the development of highly persuasive and compelling content for critical proposal sections including Executive Summaries, Management and Technical overviews, 'Why Acentra' messaging, Staffing approaches, and Key Personnel sections.
  • Research management and technology solutions to fully comprehend and articulate the functionality, approaches, value, and benefits of these solutions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather detailed approach information to produce clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to other Proposal Operations team members to improve written narratives by including more compelling narratives, value statements, and win themes.
  • Support Proposal Reviews to provide recommendations for authors on improving narrative sections.
  • Manage multiple writing assignments and prioritize appropriately to meet strict deadlines.
  • Support ongoing maintenance of proposal knowledge center artifacts, including technical and management boilerplate, past performance, executive summaries, and other artifacts.
  • Supporting the Marketing and Communications teams with content development for trade shows, white papers, blog posts, case studies, and other materials for public release.
  • Provide narrative leadership and story-flow oversight of proposals including providing writing guidance and narrative coaching to other writing staff.
  • Produce clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections; synthesize technical and other ideas from existing content and input from subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Collaborate with sales leads, capture managers, SMEs, consultants, product leads, and other resources to develop compelling solution-relevant content.
  • Research technical or business topics as necessary to ensure complete and accurate content.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.
