Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Receive, process, and prepare incoming surplus property items for sale.
  • Merchandise and assess product turnover to optimize space and sales volume.
  • Prepare the yard and sales floor for twice weekly sales and occasional special sales.
  • Assist with delivery, receipt, loading, and unloading of surplus materials in the warehouse.
  • Drive university vehicles to pick up surplus on campus and deliver campus department purchases.
  • Collaborate with agencies and campus departments to manage surplus items for sale effectively.
  • Research comparable prices and assess the value of similar items for pricing.
  • Assist in sales to campus departments, agencies, and the public, providing excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with the Surplus Property IT team on the sale of computer equipment, ensuring timely sales and compliance with data security requirements.
  • Lead and train student employees in the receiving area, delegating tasks and tracking training progress.
  • Take inventory according to the established schedule and assist with computer-related tasks as needed.
  • Maintain safety and order in the loading dock and storerooms, including charging forklifts and securing vehicles.
  • Participate in special events or projects as assigned.
