Job Overview/Purpose The Property Services Worker I performs a wide range of semi-skilled construction and maintenance tasks in support of the companys Construction and Facilities projects. Responsibilities include carpentry, painting, plastering, framing, and other general repair work to ensure properties are maintained to company standards. This position assists with renovations, improvements, and preventative maintenance efforts, working both independently and as part of a team to complete projects efficiently, safely, and with attention to quality workmanship.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant job site experience.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the construction trades, or a combination of education, training, and hands-on experience that demonstrates the necessary knowledge and abilities.
  • Must possess a valid California Drivers License
  • Capability of performing or assisting with the construction-related tasks listed above.
  • Solid understanding of construction trade practices, including knowledge of materials, tools, equipment, and techniques relevant to the specific work performed by the company (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, concrete, painting, labor supervision, equipment, and vehicle operation).
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds of materials, equipment, or supplies at least 1/3 of the workday.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The role involves self-directed work following general assignments, with discretion in selecting methods.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a challenging environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced-level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of construction tasks, including basic framing, finish carpentry, concrete finishing, painting, building block walls, plastering, plumbing, equipment and vehicle operation, laborer management, digging ditches, and cleanup, including sweeping, hauling, cleaning up debris, etc.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Follow established construction methods and procedures and refer any exceptions or issues to the Superintendent.
  • Maintain daily communication with the supervisor.
  • Provide daily updates using Procore software.
  • Engage in limited communication with department heads, subcontractors, and vendors as required.
  • Basic knowledge of construction techniques using hand tools and power tools encompassing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, finish carpentry, touch-up painting, and light drywall repair.
  • Other duties as assigned.
