About The Position

This is a pipeline requisition for future Property Manager openings in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The Property Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the property. This includes maintaining physical assets, efficient operations, maintenance, lease operations, and reporting. The role also ensures compliance with Horning policies and procedures as well as affordable housing and property management laws and legislation. The Property Manager will successfully manage tasks delegated by owners, preserving the value of the assigned property, and ensuring income generation while also providing guidance and leadership to subordinate staff in daily operations and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required along with a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • Previous exp with Section 8 and Tax Credit is required.
  • Working knowledge of property management and resident life cycle
  • Working knowledge of property management software
  • Working knowledge of affordable housing laws and anti-discrimination legislation
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to be organized, prioritize assignments, and have strong time management skills.
  • Use of interpersonal skills for situations that include but are not limited to leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution, teamwork, and communication with various levels of management, residents, and major stakeholders.
  • Use of problem-solving skills to diffuse situations and solution-oriented
  • Strong Communication both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of property management software such as Yardi, Nexus, or other property management software is preferred.
  • COS and Tax Credit Certification are preferred
  • REAC experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the property along with full resident life cycle activities, resident retention and satisfaction, and property marketing.
  • Oversee maintain and inspect the designated building assigned to the property.
  • Create and deliver timely and accurate financial statements and reports.
  • Assist in the move-out/turnover process and preparation for instructions.
  • Ensures recertifications are completed appropriately.
  • Maintain all HUD certifications.
  • Management of capital projects from bid to completion
  • Lead and supervise property management staff; partner with the engineering team to review property problems and potential opportunities to improve property value, operations, and tenant satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with tenants and major stakeholders.
