About the position

At Mercy Housing, we are on a mission to redefine affordable, low-income housing and create a more humane world where communities thrive, and all individuals can realize their full potential. As the largest nonprofit affordable housing provider in the nation, we build, preserve, and manage program-enriched housing across the country. The Property Manager will provide leadership to site staff, direction for building operations, customer service, resident relations, property budget management, rent collections, leasing, compliance and guidance on maintenance priorities. We are looking applicable experience in management and customer service. Mercy Housing is currently interviewing candidates for multiple Property Manager opportunities in San Francisco. We have several new properties preparing for lease-up and are actively hiring for these upcoming roles. Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to site staff
  • Direct building operations
  • Manage customer service and resident relations
  • Oversee property budget management
  • Handle rent collections and leasing
  • Ensure compliance with housing laws
  • Guide maintenance priorities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of applicable local and federal housing laws, including Fair Housing and Landlord and Tenant laws
  • Experience being accountable for financials

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certification in property or affordable housing management
  • Minimum two (2) years of administrative, accounting, customer service, and/or supervisory experience
  • Previous housing or property management experience including HUD, Low Income Tax Credits, Rural Housing, and Tax-Exempt Bond properties
