About The Position

The Property Manager I is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of residential or commercial properties to ensure they are maintained to high standards and operate efficiently. This role involves coordinating maintenance, managing tenant relations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The Property Manager I will work closely with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to address property needs promptly and effectively. They will also handle lease administration, rent collection, and financial reporting to support the overall profitability of the property portfolio. Ultimately, this position aims to enhance tenant satisfaction, preserve property value, and contribute to the long-term success of the property management business.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in property management or a related customer service role.
  • Basic knowledge of property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of landlord-tenant laws and property maintenance standards.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, or related discipline.
  • Certification such as Certified Property Manager (CPM) or Residential Management Professional (RMP).
  • Experience managing residential or commercial properties with a portfolio of multiple units.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, financial reporting, and lease administration.
  • Proven ability to handle conflict resolution and maintain positive tenant relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day property operations including maintenance requests, inspections, and vendor coordination.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and facilitating lease agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to property management and safety standards.
  • Oversee rent collection, monitor delinquencies, and coordinate with accounting for financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify and address maintenance or safety concerns proactively.
  • Maintain accurate records of tenant communications, lease agreements, maintenance activities, and financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with leasing agents and marketing teams to support tenant acquisition and retention efforts.
  • Assist in preparing reports on property performance, occupancy rates, and maintenance costs for senior management.
