About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is searching for an Architecture or Interior Design student who is interested in working full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year with our Property Management team of in house design, construction, and facilities maintenance individuals who design, construct and maintain owned properties and leases throughout our international company. This internship will give you the opportunity create conceptual designs, construction documents, maintain resource libraries and as-built drawings, visit project sites to verify existing conditions and observe progress, and other activities as part of a small design/build team under the supervision of a registered Architect. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support Property Management Design Manager, Architects, Designers, and Project Managers. Collect, analyze, and report project feedback. Provide general office clerical support. Support field office set up processes. Update all drawing files, improving archives and material library. Continuously identify, measure, follow, and improve area processes. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. Understand. Create. Simplify. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Pursuing bachelor's degree in interior design or architecture
  • Strong Computer skills, especially 2D/3D CAD, MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and Revit
  • Ability to learn concepts and technical details of products
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)
