ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs carpentry services, including related maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair, to support and protect physical assets, as directed. Responding to any emergency situation such as fire, power outage, gas leak, water leak, roof and ceiling repair, etc.. Install new and replace damaged equipment such as light fixtures, kitchen appliances, plumbing, and sewage etc. Perform new construction and remodel activities, including painting and wood finishing. Responds promptly to requests for carpentry and general maintenance assistance. Consistently and diplomatically maintains good public relations with casino guests and employees. Complies with, maintains, and informs guests and employees of safety procedures. Report violations of carpentry equipment or general maintenance to the supervisor. Performs maintenance duties including construction, plumbing, and sewage. Uses other related technical skills to service, repair, replace, and protect physical assets of the casino, as directed. Wears and maintains all uniforms properly, including nametag and gaming license. Maintains alertness for the performance of all responsibilities and, before taking action, exercises caution and evaluates circumstances for an appropriate security and safety response. Keeps the supervisor informed of any concerns. Performs all duties in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, Internal Control Minimum Procedures, internal policies and procedures, and Colorado Limited Gaming Regulations. Within the realm of the job, maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, which include the use of safety equipment. Incumbents are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions, and informing their supervisor or the Safety Committee of unsafe conditions, as directed. Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business. Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Requires excellent customer service and communication skills, experience using and maintaining hand and power tools, and knowledge of pertinent building codes and OSHA regulations. Flexible work schedules are required at times. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or the equivalent in education or experience. Completion of a Trade School Education in carpentry is preferred. Three (3) or more years of recent and related carpentry trade experience, preferably as a welder, painter, or carpenter. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid and current State of Colorado Gaming License. Must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License with a good driving record. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Demonstrated general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems. Knowledge of associated OSHA regulations. Experience using small power tools and general construction is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion, including frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, stooping, and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties may involve working in small, confined areas, with floors that may become slippery in the process of conducting work activities. Essential duties require lifting 50 to 75 pounds to stack, store, or move materials, supplies, and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible work week with additional hours occasionally required. In the event of a facility emergency, the incumbent must be on-call and available.
