About The Position

This position is very rewarding in training and mentoring at-risk youth. The Property & Inventory Clerk reports to the Property Supervisor and is an hourly, non-exempt position responsible for ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of the property/inventory control functions. The role involves ordering, receiving, and distributing center equipment and supplies, maintaining shipping, receiving, and inventory records, and monitoring the procurement of supplies and materials. The clerk also arranges for the disposition of excess materials and attends required staff training sessions.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in property/inventory control preferred.
  • Valid State driver’s license in the state of employment with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Sound working knowledge of property/inventory control procedures.
  • Knowledge of Government property management requirements and procedures desired.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer.
  • Ability to effectively relate to trainee population.
  • Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, hand trucks, and flatbed trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of property/inventory control functions.
  • Order, receive, and distribute center equipment and supplies.
  • Post and maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory records in accordance with center and DOL regulations.
  • Arrange for disposition of excess materials according to procedures in the Property Handbook.
  • Monitor procurement of supplies, materials, and equipment for General Services Administration and other vendors.
  • Maintain accurate records on the physical location of all center property.
  • Attend required staff training sessions.
