About The Position

As a Property General Adjuster at Intrepid Direct Insurance, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and settling large and/or complex property insurance claims. Your role will involve assessing the extent of property damage, determining coverage, and working closely with policyholders, contractors, and other relevant parties to ensure a timely resolution. Key functions include but are not limited to: Customer Experience Delivering exemplary customer service to policyholders, without exception Establish and maintain effective communication with policyholders, claimants, insurance agents, and other relevant parties to provide updates and answer questions throughout the claims process. Claim Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of property insurance claims, including inspections, interviews, and document review. Coverage Assessment: Determine policy coverage and interpret policy terms and conditions to establish the scope of the claim. Investigating and determining loss coverage and adjusting all elements of moderate-severe complexity commercial property claims Damage Evaluation: Assess property damage, including structures and contents, using industry-standard estimation tools and methodologies. Coordinating several vendor services such as emergency repair, cleaning services and various replacement services Documentation: Maintain discipline in securing and updating key information within the claim handling platform throughout the life of the claim. Reserving: Establishes and maintains appropriate initial and subsequent loss and expense reserves throughout the life of the claim. Act with urgency in collaborating with internal stakeholders regarding significant changes within claim reserving. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure expertise in property claims handling. Attending professional and/or continuing educational seminars and classes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred, or equivalent experience handling Property Claims
  • Have, or the ability to obtain adjuster license in required states.
  • Minimum 7 years of proven Property Claim Handling experience, including complex claim issues and CAT claims experience.
  • Well-developed analytical skills; the ability to critically look at damages and different facets of information in order to accurately evaluate coverage
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of claim regulations and laws in applicable jurisdictions
  • Proficiency with claims software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of property insurance policies and coverage.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Nice To Haves

  • Insurance related designation (AIC, SCLA, and/or CPCU), preferred.
  • Experience in other backgrounds such as construction, architecture, or engineering is helpful
