About The Position

In this role, you will provide leadership and management direction for a claim-adjusting team. Claim adjusting teams investigate and maintain property claims. Direct conformity with the terms of each policy and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, established standards, and procedures of the company. Specializes in property, claims and leads a team of desk adjusters. You will report directly to the Senior Manager. In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home, proximate to one of our office locations (within approximately 35-50 miles). On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events. Internal candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of location and will be considered based upon business need.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently at a location removed from immediate supervision.
  • Solid knowledge of property casualty insurance/claim industry and regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex losses in situations that require tact, diplomacy, and persuasion under changing conditions.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of office and field claim handling processes.
  • Demonstrated thorough understanding of policy language, coverages and underwriting intent.
  • Demonstrated experience in a claim administrator, specialist, examiner, or role with equivalent exhibited knowledge, skills, and performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Xactimate experience strongly preferred.
  • Guidewire/Claim Center experience/knowledge helpful.

  • Adhere to Local and Corporate Guidelines, Company Claim Bulletins, and the Company Code of Ethics.
  • Respond to inquiries and handle complaints from individuals or their representatives, insurance departments, Consumer Affairs, and other agencies.
  • Establish, communicate and implement departmental plans, objectives, and strategies.
  • Participate as a member of the management team.
