About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain state-specific property claims licensing as required.
  • Prior experience using estimating software like Xactimate is preferred.
  • Experience in property claims, customer service, construction, or restoration is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and video collaboration technology.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficient mathematical skills for damage and repair cost computation.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical inspections.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Prior military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully participate and complete the formal property claims training program, which includes handling claims.
  • Investigate and resolve Homeowners claims of minor to moderate complexity in a timely manner.
  • Document claims with photographs, measurements, and recorded interviews, and write repair estimates.
  • Perform field inspections for at least 50% of work time using a company car.
  • Utilize advanced video technology to collaborate with vendors and insureds for damage assessment.
  • Compare facts gathered during investigations to determine claim origin, cause, and coverage.
  • Establish reserve amounts and negotiate settlements within prescribed limits.
  • Communicate effectively and timely with insureds to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.
  • Prioritize responsibilities and manage claims workload to monitor progress and expenses.
  • Direct and review files handled by independent adjusters as needed.
