Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies is seeking motivated students for a challenging and rewarding paid rotational internship opportunity. This fourteen-week, predominantly in-person property claims internship program offers a unique chance to learn about the insurance claims division in partnership with the agricultural community. Interns will engage in tasks such as adjusting Farm Owner desk and field claims, meeting local agents, and learning Xactimate estimating software. This internship provides firsthand experience in handling insurance claims for Michigan Farmers, supported by training and mentorship from various team members across different levels. The Property Claims Intern is part of the Agricultural Insurance Internship, which involves collaboration between five departments: Claims, Underwriting, Marketing, Agency, and Public Policy & Commodity Division. Interns will be hired into one specific area but will participate in rotational Wednesdays, spending each Wednesday in one of the five departments. Additionally, interns will have opportunities to participate in events such as an Intern Meet-n-Greet, a Lansing Lugnuts Game, and an Intern Farm Visit. The internship culminates in a Capstone Presentation, where interns will recap their summer experiences and projects.
