About The Position

We are looking for a Property & Evidence Technician for the Police Department to join our team! This is accomplished by completing administrative duties; and processing vehicles for impound. Other duties include providing customer service to the public.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Candidates should have up to 1 year's general office experience.
Valid Texas Class C driver's license required.
Must be able to pass drug screen, polygraph, psychological and background investigation.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in handling of evidence and property at a Police Department preferred.
Working knowledge of telecommunications (NCIC, TCIC) is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

Completes administrative duties by entering vehicle information into the computer; filling out and filing invoices; typing letters; running registrations; stuffing envelopes; placing ads in the newspaper; taking payments for impounds; maintaining daily cash flow sheet; and creating various documents.
Processes vehicles for impound by verifying the vehicle identification number for each vehicle impounded; recording the license plates; and documenting any damage of the vehicle.
Provides customer service by answering telephones; giving directions; and providing vehicle information, price and procedures for getting vehicles out of the pound.
Assists with the auction by preparing property for monthly sale.
