Haltom City is looking for someone with an interest in law enforcement to work in the Police Department managing property and evidence. This position will process crime scenes and evidence collected from crime scenes. The position will receive, process, store, maintain, and retrieve property and evidence obtained by law enforcement personnel. The Property & Crime Scene Technician maintains chain of custody and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements governing the processing and storage of evidence and/or property. The selected candidate will assist officers on scenes by responding to crime scenes, collecting evidence and samples of biological material for laboratory submission and complete crime scene photography (this position is probably not well suited for the faint of heart). Also assists officers by picking up and delivering evidence and property to courts, laboratories, and other outside agencies. Researches and assists in resolving property and/or evidence related matters as required. Prepares and files property destruction orders with the District Attorney's Office, pulls and destroys property upon Judge's authorization. You may be called upon to perform other duties as assigned or required when working for the Police Department. Working in a Police Department you will have access to confidential information and property. Applicants being considered will need to be willing to have their background examined closely.
