Property Adjuster I
About The Position
This is a position where the adjuster works from home, living in and servicing Western Nebraska including the cities of Ogallala, North Platte, Sidney Alliance and Scottsbluff and the surrounding areas. The adjuster must live in the area to provide the level of customer service expected. Home office equipment and company vehicle provided. The role involves investigating, analyzing, evaluating, and settling insurance claims involving non-weather property damage losses. The adjuster will determine the value of a claim and negotiate settlements within prescribed limits of authority, in accordance with established procedures and consistent with legal and contractual obligations. This position specializes in adjusting claims requiring coverage investigation and physical inspection. The adjuster will also assist with training of other Adjusters and provide expertise, and may handle complex property losses requiring expertise in fraud detection and prevention.
Requirements
- Investigative, analytical, organizational and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of automobile repair and property construction
- Ability to learn through on-the-job training/training courses
- Superior skills in negotiation, customer service, written and verbal communication
- Ability to travel long distances and overnight when needed
- Ability to lift/move/climb ladders for inspection in all temperatures
- Strong skills in technology
- Efficient in time management to maintain schedules and deadlines
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation
