About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Property Accounting Manager to oversee and deliver precise financial and operational information. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with company policies, and enhancing workflow processes to maintain service quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of experience in multifamily residential accounting and 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in accounting for joint venture/partnership or multi-tiered entity structures.
  • Knowledge of Property Management and related accounting functions.
  • Strong Excel skills (lookups, sumifs, pivot tables, etc.) and adept at learning new accounting applications.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in Yardi Voyager and/or other Yardi products preferred.
  • Yardi report writing experience is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assistance to others.

Responsibilities

  • Review and deliver timely and accurate financial and operational information to company management.
  • Review monthly journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure capital expenses adhere to company capitalization policy.
  • Establish annual goals and objectives for the property accounting team, and assign properties and portfolios effectively.
  • Implement improvements to streamline work, increase productivity, and maintain excellence.
  • Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations, and monitor property cash balances.
  • Ensure adherence to lender reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Review monthly distribution/funding calculations for entity distributions.
  • Review property acquisition prorations and post-close true-ups.
  • Respond timely to requests from owners, business leaders, property managers, and others related to financial reporting, accounting matters, and property budgets.
  • Interview, hire, and train team members, and manage their performance according to company policies.
