About The Position

The Property Accountant works under the direction of the Accounting Supervisor and is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of assigned sets of books for various operating properties; tracking advances made by Abode Communities; tracking and reconciliation of various balance sheet schedules; review receivables from tenants; and review and approve accounts payable invoices. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, or relevant field.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in affordable housing, property management, non-profit accounting, and multiple sets of books preferred.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new software, systems, and processes.
  • Strong communicator and able to take initiative to resolve tasks and issues.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed.
