About The Position

Dave Hausbeck Trucking (DHT Group), based out of Reese, Michigan has been ensuring safety and satisfaction for over 40 years. DHT is hiring at all facilities with additional Michigan locations in Newport, Sault Ste. Marie, and Port Huron, as well as Bellefontaine, Ohio. DHT has several divisions including Tanker, Gravel Train, Flatbed, Van, Excavating, and Landscape Supply. DHT also operates full-service repair facilities. Up to $5000 sign on bonus. Immediate hire for right candidate. Propane Driver responsibilities are to safely load, transport, and unload propane promptly and efficiently in order to serve DHT customers’ needs in the Scio, OH region. Driver would be expected to have weekend availability, and the position does not guarantee being home nightly.

Requirements

  • Licensed CDL Class A Driver
  • X endorsement
  • Acceptable MVR
  • Position is OTR - must be able to work schedule including at least one weekend day
  • 6 months to 1 year of verifiable Class A semi trucking experience

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of verifiable tanker/propane driving experience

Responsibilities

  • Attach terminal hoses to the truck connections to pump propane into the tanker
  • Use permanent hoses attached to the filling ports or the hoses stored in the truck to unload the tanker
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods
  • Complete all 'pre-trip' requirements before each truck run and 'post-trip' requirements at the end of each shift
  • Operate a powered industrial vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
  • Transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations
  • Deftly maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follow loading crew signals
  • Assist with loading and unloading of materials, using specialized equipment when warranted
  • Maintain work orders, invoices, shipping bills, and other required paperwork; deliver documentation to appropriate staff
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing at terminals and with Dispatch, Drivers, vendors, and customers
  • Facilitate routine service on trucks, report maintenance malfunctions to appropriate parties
  • Arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes
  • Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy
