About The Position

DHT is looking for propane/butane drivers who will be responsible for loading, transporting and delivering propane and butane pressurized commodities and service our Eastern Michigan and Canada region. This position requires a Class A CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

Requirements

• CDLA
• X endorsement
• Acceptable MVR
• At least one year of semi-truck driving experience
• At least one year of flammable commodity transport experience
• Ability to work OTR

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of fuel commodity transport experience
• Ability to go to Canada

Responsibilities

• Applies a thorough understanding of the technical concepts, practice and procedures and a general knowledge of the industry standards and government regulations related to transporting bulk petroleum products
• Complete all 'pre-trip' requirements and 'post-trip' requirements
• Transports loads safely and in a timely manner, obeying traffic laws and safety regulations
• Maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals
• Maintains work orders, invoices, shipping bills, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to staff
• Communicates effectively verbally and in writing at terminals and with Dispatch, Drivers, vendors, and customers
• Facilitates routine service on trucks, reports maintenance malfunctions to appropriate parties
• Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes
• Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy
