About the position

The proofreader will take regular review assignments for a range of marketing content, including social media, email, web, digital, and multimedia content, and will provide operational support for the creative team. The proofreader will work under the leadership of the managing editor, leveraging the guidance of the editor and collaborating with staff and contract writers to review content in alignment with the firm's content strategy. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the managing editor, senior proofreader, writers, as well as the broader creative team, to help execute the firm's content strategy.
  • Apply the Plante Moran voice and tone, including specific campaign nuances, to each assignment.
  • Work under the guidance of the senior proofreader to maintain the style guide.
  • Work with managing editor to update, maintain, and socialize editorial standards of marketing.
  • Provide operational support for the creative team.
  • Proofread a range of marketing content, including web, promotional (email, social, event), sales enablement, and internal communications.
  • Interpret and apply feedback from approvers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related Business degree.
  • Requires at least 1-3 years of experience in B2B marketing, communications, content marketing, and/or editorial functions.
  • Professional services firm experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional ability to write and edit with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail relating to accuracy, consistency, grammar, and spelling.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of the buyer's journey, leveraging personas in content development.
  • Understanding of the connection between content, UX, and design.
  • Positive and inspired - able to work collaboratively with team members and internal constituents.
  • Proven skills and proficiency using a wide range of technology, digital tools including, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Workfront, and project management tools.
