About The Position

Under direction of the Promotions & Entertainment Manager, responsible to assist the Marketing team in creating, promoting and executing various promotions and events both on and off property.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Marketing or closely related field with one (1) year of marketing and promotions experience in the gaming industry or two (2) years of marketing and promotions experience within an organization of similar size to our Odawa Casino Petoskey property.
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite software including Outlook, and compatible software programs.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and people skills required.
  • Capable of performing multiple tasks at any given time and be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
  • Applicant must possess excellent written and presentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, team members and vendors in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.
  • Local in-town and out-of-town travel will be required.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, and reach.
  • Must be flexible with shift and days off with ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, special events, etc., as needed.
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.

  • Point of Sales systems experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Marketing team in developing and maintaining communications to internal and external customers; and in other areas when needed.
  • Greet all guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.
  • Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Communicate with outside vendors or print companies when gathering or submitting required information.
  • Assist with proof reading all materials that come from Marketing.
  • Responsible for printing all in-house collateral, trimming out collateral and coordinating with the Promotions & Entertainment Manager when the collateral is ready for display.
  • Assist in maintaining communications with all departments and team members.
  • Assist with the organization of logo items to support special events or giveaways.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate information on all slot floor signage on the gaming floor, Odawa Hotel and Odawa Casino Resort properties and venues.
  • Assist with promotional drawings, special events, concerts and giveaways on the casino floor and outside events such as parades or other community events.
  • Promote a fun atmosphere by mingling with players and making jackpot, birthday, wedding, or other announcements on the microphone.
  • Provide a sympathetic ear for guests while promoting the positive image of the Casino.
  • Assist entertainment with box office ticket selling, setting and tearing down the venue, dressing room setup, etc.
  • Assist with writing and submitting creative and graphic requests.
  • Supervisory level access in the database for setting up prizes, promotions and drawings.
  • Gather information quotes, create bid tabs, and check requests and PORs for purchasing marketing goods and services.
  • Assist with Coordinating and executing promotions.
  • Knowledge of gaming operational policies, procedures and regulations as they relate to promotional events.
  • Assist in planning to realize the objectives of the current strategy.
  • Attend all meetings as required.
  • Complete all required training satisfactorily.
  • Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Work at other properties as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
