About The Position

Prometheus Summer Internship Program is a paid program that will provide you with an inside look at the real estate operations of Prometheus, the largest private owner of multi-family properties in the Bay Area. The internship is intended to provide a unique opportunity to earn valuable experiences by working directly with the department managers on a daily basis. Your responsibilities will focus on providing assistance to your immediate department in the execution of daily tasks and support of internal and external customers by collaborating with others on providing outstanding service to our Prometheans, Neighbors, and Vendors. Areas of learning will include becoming familiar with varying types of real estate transactions and their associated documents, and cross-functionality in a diverse working environment. This role will require you to work up to 40 hours per week, for a duration of approximately 8 weeks. As our Prometheus Design Intern, you will focus on developing an understanding of the following core competencies of our operations: Design and Innovation Participating in the design development of a project by providing support with concepting, space planning, and selections of materials under the guidance of the design team. Contribute to Capital design projects from beginning to end, allowing them to highlight the following design competencies: Ability to visualize and conceptualize new ideas, and to verbally communicate those ideas effectively. Thinking of clever design strategies and resourceful solutions that address constraints without compromising on style and enable them to transform challenges into design opportunities. Technical skills for others to be able to see and comprehend the design. Manage time effectively to make sure that projects move along without incident and are finished on time and within budget. Drive innovation by sharing and presenting current design trend forecasts during weekly team meetings. Design Support Participate in project meetings, design reviews and presentations. Develop PowerPoint or InDesign presentations to assist with presentations of finishes, FF&E and interior features to ownership. Assist with the organization and maintenance of project files, material samples and materials library. Support in updating department documents and templates as needed. Product Research and Coordination Perform product research to expand the library collection of vendors and design materials. Collaborate with design team and other departments to support project coordination and communication

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university, under a degree program in Interior Design, or related field with a strong interest in pursuing a career in Interior Design or Architecture. Sophomore, junior or senior standing preferred.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) for creating presentations and mood boards.
  • Working knowledge of basic technical skills such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch and Bluebeam. Knowledge in using generative tools for research.
  • Must demonstrate a solid understanding of space planning, color theory, material selection and other aspects of design.
