About The Position

As Projects Planning Engineer, you champion the first stage of ISCO’s Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Projects and are involved throughout all project phases. This entails working directly with Production Planning, Manufacturing Facilities, and Sales to manage and support the fabrication scope of key projects from inception through completion. In the incipient/growth phase, you are the subject matter expert in the identification of key components, obstacles, and solutions relating to customer site plans and blueprints. In the steady state phase of projects, your involvement is consistent and repeatable as it relates to engineering activities. ISCO’s level of quality, service, communication, and innovation, has built a reputation that results in new and repeat business with clients in a wide range of industries: EPC, Industrial, Municipal, Mining, Landfill, etc., all of which need engineering to be successful. This is an operations role that manages from Witherspoon with zero direct reports and involves occasional travel throughout the year to various ISCO sites for training, exposure, and team building. You engage in anywhere between four to twelve jobs at a time. Jobs can last from three months to two years. You have direct communication and impact on the EPC Sales Team, outsourcing partners, customers, and you indirectly impact the fabrication shop. You are pivotal in the beginning project phases and necessary throughout the projects lifecycle to achieve our goal of improving service levels and setting up ISCO as our customers solution

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates will possess four-year bachelor’s degree; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge and business use of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Power Point, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general fabrication documents, CAD Drawings, technical procedures, and quality documentation
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence to effectively present information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Problem Solving: Ability to solve practical problems with identifying root cause and implementing countermeasures to correct
  • Clear communication of engineering jargon towards teammates, associates, and other professionals.
  • Effective ability to manage data, creating a strong, easily understandable story
  • College level understanding on algebraic methods.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, dissect, and “spool out” customer isometrics
  • Interpret customer specific layout plans and design notes/restrictions
  • Determine fabrication components and make suggestions based on product properties
  • Communicate changes, updates, and next steps accurately and promptly
  • Develop and track goals for continuous improvement in fabrication processes
  • Set and achieve utilization efficiency, quality, and safety targets in line with company objectives
  • ERP entry relating to work order release, inventory allocation, and bill of material manifestation
  • Review and approve ISCO CAD drawings based on project requirements
  • Communication with ISCO Project MGT Team to plan and discuss project engineering throughput and deadlines
  • Weekly production meetings with sales teams and operations management
  • Weekly executive brief to VP of Operations on all live projects
  • Weekly attendance of NCR (nonconformance review) meeting
  • Inventory count, reconciliation, and disposition throughout project lifecycles
  • Maintain a list of open RFIs (request for information) on EPC jobs
  • Collaborate toward ‘yes’ by identifying barriers and solutions
  • Provide products and services that are accurate and on-time
  • Part number creation, correction, and management over customer jobs
  • Conduct a debrief after each project and create/maintain a lesson learned log
  • Establish structure and methodology into processes which need revamping
