About The Position
H2M architects + engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, and environmental consulting firm, is seeking a full or part-time Project Traffic Engineer (Hybrid) for our Melville, NY office. This position is pivotal in the preparation and management of traffic, parking, and master planning studies, which includes traffic design and related infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate on and design and manage exciting traffic and transportation projects, contributing to the overall success of our firm. The role involves the preparation of traffic impact and parking studies, including the review of site plans for traffic safety issues and ensuring parking facilities conform to local zoning regulations. The Project Traffic Engineer will coordinate and perform planning, analysis, design, and permitting tasks for traffic and transportation engineering, land development, and master planning projects. Responsibilities also include analyzing signals, signing, and pavement markings, ensuring the delivery of on-time tasks and projects within specified guidelines and schedules, and completing progress reports as necessary. Drafting and preparing traffic impact reports is a key component of this role, as is managing internal and external relationships, including interaction and problem-solving with clients, contractors, and other project team members. Candidates must be prepared to travel for field and client visits within the NY metro area, which is an essential aspect of the job.
