About The Position

The Project Team Lead is a hands on people leader responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing a team of project managers while ensuring high quality delivery and strong customer engagement. This role serves as the primary point of leadership for day to day execution, customer interaction, and issue resolution, and acts as a trusted interface with executive level customer stakeholders. The Project Team Lead balances delivery oversight with coaching, accountability, and relationship management.

Requirements

  • Experience leading or mentoring project managers in complex delivery environments
  • Strong customer facing experience, including engagement with executive level stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage delivery risk, ambiguity, and competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate issues, options, and recommendations
  • Experience working in large, matrixed organizations

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of project managers to ensure consistent execution standards and professional growth
  • Set clear expectations for ownership, communication, risk management, and delivery discipline
  • Provide ongoing guidance, feedback, and support to help project managers navigate complex delivery and customer situations
  • Foster a high performance, accountable, and collaborative team culture
  • Oversee execution across multiple projects to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and quality expectations
  • Identify delivery risks, issues, and dependencies early and drive mitigation actions with project teams
  • Ensure projects are executed in alignment with established delivery and governance models
  • Escalate risks and decision points timely and appropriately with clear context and recommended actions
  • Act as a key customer facing leader and escalation point for project and delivery topics
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executive level customer stakeholders
  • Lead customer discussions related to delivery status, risks, trade offs, and resolution plans
  • Represent the team with confidence, credibility, and clarity in executive forums
  • Partner closely with program leadership, delivery, product, and other cross functional teams
  • Ensure alignment between delivery teams and broader program objectives
  • Drive clarity around ownership, dependencies, and next steps across organizations
  • Reinforce consistent project management practices across the team
  • Identify recurring execution challenges and recommend process or operational improvements
  • Support adoption of tools, dashboards, and reporting standards that improve visibility and predictability
