About The Position

Wharton-Smith, Inc is currently seeking an experienced Project Superintendent I with Commercial background for the Pensacola, FL area. In this role, the successful candidate will Supervise Commercial Construction project or work on a team with lead Superintendent. Primary Responsibilities Provide field supervision and execution of project safety, administration, schedule, and quality controlMonitor the project to ensure a safe, secure, clean, and orderly jobsite and proper administration of safety policiesEnsure quality standards are met or exceededPlan, schedule, inspect, and supervise all work at the project siteDevelop and manage short-term schedules, including manpower and equipment resourcesComplete projects within established time and budget constraints Coordinate subcontractors and lead subcontractor meetingsCoordinate permit and regulatory inspectionsParticipate in owner, design team, and post-construction review meetingsCommunicate project progress, issues, and changes in scope to the Project Manager Maintain field document control, including daily reports, progress photographs, and accurate quantity reporting and timekeepingManage material handling, including receiving, inventory, storage, and spare partsOversee small tool managementSupport jobsite hiring as requiredMaintain and update As-Built drawingsDemonstrate working knowledge of contract documentsWork collaboratively with the project team and assist the direct supervisor in all field operations. Technical Skills: Intermediate computer skills.Working with project management apps, project scheduling apps and project document apps.Knowledge of construction methods and basic building code regulations.Strong communications skills and ability to direct trade partner crews.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • 10-year commercial construction experience in field supervision position.
  • Experience with concrete, steel, PEMB construction.
  • Knowledge of site development and underground infrastructure.
  • Appropriate supervisory experience.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Current training as Competent Person in Trenching, Scaffolds, Rigging, Confined Space, and Fall Protection.
  • Current in OSHA 10-hour, First Aid & CPR, SWPPP Inspector, silica, Risk Management, and Accident training.
  • History of successful completion of multi-million-dollar projects.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate permit and regulatory inspections
  • Participate in owner, design team, and post-construction review meetings
  • Communicate project progress, issues, and changes in scope to the Project Manager
  • Maintain field document control, including daily reports, progress photographs, and accurate quantity reporting and timekeeping
  • Manage material handling, including receiving, inventory, storage, and spare parts
  • Oversee small tool management
  • Support jobsite hiring as required
  • Maintain and update As-Built drawings
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of contract documents
  • Work collaboratively with the project team and assist the direct supervisor in all field operations
