About The Position

The Weitz Company is currently accepting applications for a Project Superintendent I/II to join our Industrial team. This position requires a willingness to travel based on the needs of the project. As a Project Superintendent, you will act as the primary leader of subcontractors and field forces on a job site, ensuring project safety in accordance with the Company's Safety Policy. You will be responsible for developing and updating the project schedule, preparing two-week look ahead schedules, and updating project schedules utilizing computerized scheduling software. Additionally, you will assist with the buyout and selection of major subcontractors, coordinate the work of subcontractors' field forces, and communicate effectively with owners, designers, and engineers. Maintaining accurate cost reports and adhering to all company policies, standards, and procedures are also key responsibilities of this role. Other duties and projects may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years of Industrial construction experience in all facets of the project
  • Experience with safety, preconstruction, staff development, retention, and customer interaction
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Strong team leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Time management and project organizational skills
  • A high school diploma is required; industry-related college degree is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Apple products (iPhone & iPad)
  • Ability to learn specific software, with training provided on company standards
