The Project Structural Engineer position for WSB LLC is located in Denver, CO. Lead a team to perform bridge design and other structural design using Load Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) design procedures for a wide variety of clients including cities, counties, state, and private entities. Use innovative approaches to provide our clients with efficient designs focused on quality and safety. Use engineering design skills to perform and check structural calculations (Microsoft Excel, MathCAD, or other calculation software) for both new and existing structures. Use Midas, STAAD, RISA, ENERCALC, AASHTOWare. Direct engineering technicians or self-draft engineering drawings using Microstation or AutoCAD. Conduct technical writing and editing including specifications, reports, memorandums, emails, proposals, and more. Compose project specifications, special provisions and technical reports regarding the feasibility, alternatives, inspection and evaluation of proposed and existing facilities. Conduct structural inspections, load ratings and assessments. Mentor Engineers in Training and interns. Communicate with design teams and clients. While bridge projects are expected to make up the majority of the work, the position will also be required to provide structural design and analysis for retaining walls, buildings and other vertical structures, and hydraulic structures such as clarifiers, tanks, dam, and weirs. Organize with server and cloud-based storage and filing for plans and calculations. Experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment granted, the complexity of tasks performed, and direct supervision received. Collaborate and coordinate with multi-state cross-functional teams. In office with flexibility to work remote up to 2 days per week.
