About The Position

The Project Specialist will provide support to the Dean’s Office deliver projects within the established budget and timeline. This role will facilitate meetings, conduct interviews, gather research, and help define clear, measurable goals in the department. They will document key decisions, prepare agendas, and support the creation of proposals, reports, and other project materials, including occasional budget management. The role involves engaging with students, employers, and community partners to evaluate program success and inform continuous improvement. We want someone who actively participates in committees and professional organizations and stays current with trends in legal education. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Critical thinking, effective reasoning, and reflective thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination : Works collaboratively with multiple departments within the School of Law on the development of new initiatives.
  • Facilitates meetings, conducts interviews, and performs research to gather information on each project.
  • Assists in the development of measurable project goals and objectives, and monitors progress toward achievement.
  • Participates in program and project development, disseminates project information, and serves as an active participant in project related work groups and committees.
  • Meet with potential students, current students, legal employers, or community stakeholders to receive feedback to evaluate each projects success.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepares agendas for meetings, documents key decisions, and collaborates with team members to develop project collateral.
  • Assists in writing and disseminates work plans and project documents to include procedures, proposals, progress reports, and presentations.
  • May manage budget for small projects or components of large programs under the direction of dean’s office.
  • Professional Development: Serves on committees, work groups, and task forces as assigned.
  • Actively engages in the activities of relevant professional organizations.
  • Engages in continued education to improve skill set and stay abreast of industry standards in Legal Education.
  • Ensures programs comply with federal, state, accrediting agency, and university laws, standards, policies, and procedures.
