Project Specialist, Faculty and Operations USC LEVENTHAL SCHOOL OF ACCOUNTING As part of the USC Marshall School of Business, the Leventhal School of Accounting is widely recognized in the top tier of accounting education. Responsibilities and Duties The Leventhal School of Accounting is recruiting a Faculty and Operations Project Specialist to join its talented, highly motivated team. The candidate will provide support to the operations team, faculty, doctoral students, and academic programs. Working under the supervision of the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for (1) assisting faculty and staff with overall administration, operations and events; (2) supporting accounting faculty and PhD research workshops; (3) assisting special program planning; (4) processing financial transactions and reports; (5) coordinating event logistics, communications, and marketing; (6) maintaining our SharePoint and internal files; and (7) collaborating with the entire Leventhal faculty and staff in executing the School’s strategic plans. Key Functions Supports the administrative functions of the school such as planning, organizing, coordinating, scheduling, and implementing initiatives in alignment with Leventhal’s strategic goals. Assist with managing communications for Leventhal that include both event-specific and other noteworthy news on our social media platforms, Marketing Cloud, and internal SharePoint. Supports the coordination of Leventhal events, conferences, research seminars, and other School initiatives (e.g., Commencement, SEC Conference, etc.). Facilitates purchases and other business transactions such as reimbursements, requisitions, and purchase orders, as needed. Research, gathers, organizes, and summarizes data. Ensures completeness and accuracy of documentation for submission to appropriate stakeholders, including various university departments and administrators, for review and approval (e.g. academic materials, event flyers, announcements, financial reports, etc.) Assists in the preparation, development, production, and retention of documents and other materials as needed for academic and fiscal year purposes. Composes a variety of business and academic correspondence with stakeholders. Maintains up-to-date currency on revisions to department, school, and/or university policies and procedures. Serves as an internal resource to faculty, administrators, staff, and students on departmental and university procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong writing and interpersonal abilities.
  • Organized, resourceful, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing priorities and fluctuating workloads.
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Experience in event logistics and communications/marketing.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, writing, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to initiate own work and use good judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and communicating the status of these tasks to supervisor and colleagues.
  • The successful candidate must also demonstrate, through ideas, words, and actions, a strong commitment to USC’s Unifying Values.
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience with special events planning, fundraising management, or alumni and volunteer relations management. Experience with contracts and other legal documentation. Ability to support event planning (e.g., developing concepts, creating and estimating budgets, producing promotional materials). Experience with audio/visual equipment. Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain multiple schedules. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
