About The Position

The Project Specialist (2H) role within the Electric Operations Program & Project Planning group at Consolidated Edison involves providing project and program management services. The position focuses on forecasting capabilities, aligning scheduling, funding, engineering design, and workforce forecasts, while conducting extensive analysis to ensure programmatic goals are met. The role requires collaboration with various departments to maintain work inventories and create estimates, supporting the overall efficiency of Electric Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 3 years full-time work experience, or an Associate's Degree with five years relevant work experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with seven years relevant experience.
  • Adept knowledge of programmatic, emergency, and Energy Services workflows.
  • Proficient in data analytics tools (e.g., Pivot Tables, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI).
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills with experience in process improvements or cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ability to interface with various stakeholders including construction, cost management, and engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree and five years relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Logica, Oracle, and other Electric Ops applications.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience in Dependency Management.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast capability and align the region's scheduling, funding, engineering design, and workforce forecasts.
  • Develop monthly capability plans based on hours, units, and crews for the Construction/Operations team.
  • Work with other Program Project Planners to develop intra-regional work plan execution and capability recommendations.
  • Construct, maintain, modify, and review forecasts for proposed programs and projects in Electric Operations.
  • Use real-time program and project progress to project remaining work plan and capability impact.
  • Obtain, review, and analyze historical data for long-term forecasting.
  • Model and utilize performance-based metrics to derive Program/Project CWES.
  • Utilize data analytics software to identify business trends and communicate work plan adherence.
  • Identify business process improvements and work bundling opportunities.
  • Determine resource capacity and make recommendations to regional General Managers.
  • Monitor and communicate variations to forecasts for lessons learned.
  • Run reports to track compliance adherence and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Update projects with best date estimates for work completion.
