About The Position

Generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Utilization of Microsoft Projects or Primavera P6 to build complex project schedules and construction schedules Working with site Project Managers and Maintenance Supervisors to build an integrated schedule used to prioritize and balance construction resources at the site Ability and expectation to identify risks to Project Schedules and escalate to the appropriate Project Managers Able to clearly define job critical path and milestones which can negatively or positively impact critical path Able to identify schedule data trends and make recommendations to Project Managers so they can better forecast project completion dates Responsible for working with Maintenance, Projects Group and Site Operations to build and manage a turnaround work schedule for bi-yearly outages in our production units Ability to work overtime during plant outages so work progress can be tracked and reported throughout the day The capacity to foresee potential problems and develop effective solutions to keep projects on track

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.
  • Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines.
  • Understanding of existing and potential customer deliverable expectations and preferences.
  • Ability to set priorities.
  • Ability to effectively discuss and correspond with engineering disciplines and/or contractors to ascertain and understand pertinent information concerning schedules, scopes of work, estimates and/or project costs.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of other disciplines deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all project controls deliverables.
  • Experienced in scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work.
  • Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.
  • AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills and experience.
